Fact sheets are available on the most prevalent bioterrorism agents such as anthrax and smallpox and also on topics such as "Children and Anthrax." In the left frame, select Frequently Asked Questions for an extensive description of anthrax. Comment:This site provides a large amount of information on preventing and responding to childhood emergencies. Some documents relate specifically to emergency situations with children with special needs. A few publications have Spanish versions. Many of the publications are for sale, but many are also available free of charge. At the site, select "Products and Resources". Then, selection of "Product Order Form" will provide a list of publications for sale. Select "Downloadable Files" for free publications.

Comment:The February-March 2004 issue of Healthy Childcare was devoted to emergency preparation, and can be found on this website. The articles include emergency planning tips with information on evacuations, staying healthy during a crisis, managing medications in an emergency, emergency food and water planning, and stress in an emergency.
